Receding Chin Correction
There is an old saying that A strong chin is a sign character. Whether or not this is true is open to debate but it is a popular opinion in which many people place great trust. In usual profiles the chin lies slightly behind a vertical line drawn from the forehead down. If the chin is too far back (receding) it may appear weak and may also lead to fat formations beneath it. To improve the profile and shape a small implant (prosthesis) is inserted through a small incision, usually just beneath the chin. This sits at the front of the lower jawbone to extend the chin forward. Like all operations this is designed for the individual and your Surgeon will shape the implant especially for you.
Chin Augmentation has shown a growth of 36% between 1992 and 2002. American Society of Plastic Surgeons (2003).
