Nose Improvements

There can be little doubt that surgery to improve the shape of the nose is the most sought after Cosmetic surgical procedure. The reasons for wishing to reshape and improve the most prominent feature on the face are many and varied and the experienced Surgeon can achieve highly dramatic or extremely subtle improvements for both men and women. In the past ten years Rhinoplasty (nose improvement) has been the most performed procedure at The Pountney Clinic and American studies also have it as the most requested.

Patients may request an improvement to just one facet; perhaps removal of a too large bridge. Equally they may seek a number of improvements. They may wish to improve the nose they were born with or reshape a nose that has changed through trauma, perhaps a break. And as we age the tip may thicken and require refining. Nose improvement may reduce the hump on the bridge, narrow a thick bridge, straighten a bent nose, shorten a long nose, reduce the size of a fatty tip or bring in the nostrils. An operation to the nose that includes bone or cartilage work is invariably referred to as a Full Rhinoplasty while an operation on the nostrils is a Nose Refinement or Rhino Tip-plasty.

Your nose should be remodelled to provide a harmonious balance with your other facial characteristics. Its profile, the conjunction of lip and nose, its relationship with your chin and your brow are all assessed. Even the width of your face can make a dramatic difference to your proposed improvement.
