Male Breast Reductions

Although rarely talked about the problem of overdeveloped male breasts is actually quite common. It may affect both or just one of the breasts. And because the unwanted tissue is located in a specific area even a combination of diet and exercise will fail to remove it. Indeed, if the pectoral muscles are built up as a result of exercise the problem may appear exacerbated even if some of the tissue goes.

This problem may be inherited, it may be caused by stopping exercise (such as bodybuilding) and it may be caused by steroids or other prescription drugs or simply through weight gain. Your surgeon will need to determine not only the cause or causes but also how best to overcome the problem for you.

The procedure has been developed to remove fat and glandular tissue from the breasts and for some, excess skin as well. In so doing your Surgeon can produce a flatter, firmer and better contoured chest.

Through Excision plus Liposuction
If you have a fairly substantial amount of fat sitting over your pectoral muscles also associated with excess skin your Surgeon may recommend a skin and fat removal procedure. He will surgically excise the unwanted skin and remove the fact through a combination of Liposuction and direct excision. Stitches are removed usually week later. A few patients will require a second visit to produce an even better result.

Through Liposuction
If you have only small deposits of fat and are not generally overweight Liposuction may well prove to be the answer. Your Surgeon will make small incisions in the fatty area and normally inject a fluid to break down the fat. A powerful and even suction is then applied and the fact removed through slender hollow tubes. The incisions normally require no more than one stitch each and these are moved a week after the operation.
