Breast Augmentation

The ideal candidate for augmentation has breasts that are under proportioned for her height and body shape. This may lead to a reduction in self-confidence and the procedure can help in many ways. It may be used to enhance the body contour if you feel your breasts are too small or it may correct a reduction in breast volume fullness - perhaps following pregnancy and breastfeeding and it can be used to balance the size of breasts where one is smaller than the other.

It may also improve the shape and feel of breasts. It is a relatively straightforward procedure when undertaken by an experienced surgeon and involves the insertion of an implant behind the existing breast tissue. In the majority of patients the implant will sit above the muscle of the chest wall, for a few the Surgeon will place it beneath the muscle. The position can only be determined at a Consultation. The implant is normally inserted through a tiny incision in the infra-mammary crease where the breast meets the chest wall. Here the incision line may be well concealed by the increased fullness and improved shape of the enlarged breast.
